    1937-1998

    Mr. Alfred "Freddy", 60, of Amirault Street, Dieppe, passed away Thursday, January 8, 1998 at the Dr. G. L. Dumont Hospital.

    Born in Memramcook, N.B., he was the son of the late Arthur P. and the late Julienne (Dupuis) Leger. Mr. Leger was a retired Plumber and Pipe Fitter by trade with Local 694 having worked with Moncton Plumbing for 20 years and with Electrical & Refrigeration for 10 years. He attended St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church.

    He was the beloved husband of Rosa (Gauvin) Leger; cherished father of Joanne (Reno) gaudet; and the dearly loved grandfather of Tina and Mathieu. Mr. Leger will be sadly missed by three sisters, Laurianne (Clorice) Lirette of Dover, Bella (Leonce) Breau of Pre-d’En-Haut and Bernice LeBlanc (Joseph) of Memramcook East; three brothers, Leo-Paul (Rose) of Dover, Ronald (Celina) of Little Dover Road and Gerard of Toronto; and also by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Leger was predeceased by one brother, Bernard in 1972.

    Visitation will be held at Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, Sunday, January 11, 1998 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held from St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Monday, January 12, 1998 at 11 o’clock with interment in the parish cemetery.

    Clément J. Léger, 94, of Manoir Notre-Dame, formerly of Derby Street, Moncton, passed away on Saturday, January 6th, 2007, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital born in La Hétrière, he was the son of the late Pierre O. and the late Eugénie (née:Bourque) Léger. He had retired from the NB Liquor Corporation. He is survived by his two children, Charline (Gilles) Lalonde of Rigaud, QC and Pierre of Moncton; one brother, Camille (Cécile) Léger of St. Anselme; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Véronique, David and Ester; nine great grandchildren as well as by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Hélène in 1988; four sisters, Bella, Hermance, Laudia and Alida; and also by five brothers, Arthur, Edgar, André, Ferdinand and Gérard. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Monday, January 8th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from 9am until the time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, January 9th, 2007 at 10am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com

Informations biographiques

She was born March 11, 1925 in Victoriaville, Qc having lived in Montmagny until 1947, afterwards moving to Memramcook, NB. She was married to Camille Leger in 1943. She was the daughter of late Francis Favreau and late Odile Bouchard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress, quiltmaker, enjoyed cooking, knitting, crafts, travel and shopping.

She was a very active member and lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary br. # 89 in Memramcook, having been President, secretary and treasurer for many years. Since 2013 she was a member of the L.A. branch #6 in Moncton. She was a member of la paroisse St. Anselme.

Née le 11 mars 1925 à Victoriaville, QC, elle a vécu à Montmagny jusqu’à son mariage avec Camille Leger, en 1943, et a déménagé au N.-B. en 1947.

Cécile était une épouse, mère et grand-mère très dévouée et aimée de sa famille. Elle fut très active au sein des Dames Auxiliares de Memramcook, section no 89. Elle fut présidente, secrétaire et trésorière de l’organisme et était membre à vie de celui-ci, y ayant fait une quantité de bénévolat exceptionnelle.3

    Alfred "Freddie" LeBlanc (1916 - 2008) -

    Alfred "Freddie" LeBlanc, 91, of Cocagne Cape and formerly of Bas Cap-Pelé passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born September 25, 1916 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Thomas and Scholastique (Cormier) LeBlanc. Freddie was a retired employee at the Moncton Hospital. He was past President of the Lion's Club, and le club d'âge d'or de Cap-Pelé, and a member of les Chevaliers de Colomb, 3rd degree, Council 7535, Pascal Poirier of Grande-Digue. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Simone (Bourque) LeBlanc; three daughters, Denise LeBlanc (Jean Hébert) of Grande-Digue, Lucette Vienneau (Michel) of Cap-Pelé, Anne Spina (Dominick) of New York; four grandchildren, Karine, Krystal, Nathalie and Jeremy, and by several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Ambroise "Brose" (Berthe) LeBlanc, a half-brother Pacific "Fic" (Yvonne) Léger and a half-sister Mélindé (Aimée) Duguay. Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008 at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service at 8:30p.m. on Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Léon Richard Oncology Center of the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital would be appreciated by the family. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
