    SAUNDERS, Eunice Kathleen -

    78, Hillside Villa, River Hebert, Cumberland County, died December 8, 1992, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late Ezekiel and Mary (Wood) O'Brien. She was a member of Trinity United Church, River Hebert and a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 14, River Hebert. She is survived by her husband, Philip; son, Richard Starr, Minudie, Cumberland County; four sisters, Lalia Legere, Olla (Mrs. James Wilson), Tiny Proctor, Hestle (Mrs. James Quinn), all of River Hebert; brother, James, River Hebert; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by five brothers, Harris, Henry, Fred, Ernest, Ezekiel. The body is in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Church, Rev. Ralph Morris officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert East.

    LEGERE, Phyllis Margaret -

    68, Joggins, died September 24, 1994, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Janie (Terrio) McNeil. She worked as a hairdresser for several years and helped initiate the preschool program in Joggins where she taught for four years. She was also employed at the Skillet Restaurant at Zellers in Amherst for a few years. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins and very active in church affairs. She was a former member of the CWL; former leader of both brownies and girl guides and for many years served as area commissioner for the Girl Guides of Canada. She was a founding member and first

    president of the Cumberland County Foster Parents Association. She is survived by her husband, Ben; three daughters, Cheryl Morel, East Amherst; Belinda (Mrs. Fred Peters), Summerside; Michele, Toronto; three sons, Robert (Butch), Shelburne; Danny Robinson, Amherst; Maurice, Mississauga, Ont.; nine grandchildren. She is predeceased by an infant son, Wayne; two brothers in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, Rev. J.B. Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Ragged Reef Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church or any charity.

    In his 57th year, on February 10, 1989, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B. , of cancer. Resident of Sackville, N.B. and formerly of 813 Maplewood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario. Born in Sackville, a son of the late Levi and Helena (Bourque) Legere. Beloved husband of Estelle (Pigeon). Devoted father to Scott, Sackville, N.B., and Lisa Ann from Ottawa. Dear brother to Rita (wife of Bill Milner), Sackville, N.B., Margaret O'Connor of Dieppe, N.B., Valerie, (husband of Aline), Sardus, B.C., Levi Jr. (husband of Leih(, Sardus B.C., George (husband of Ella), Port Perry, Ontario, Robert (husband of Marjorie), Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Marc (husband of Donna), Maple, Ontario. Sisters and brothers-in-law Grace and Darryl Cheesman, Cornwall, Ontario, Fran and Drummond Moon of Burlington; Oscar and Ann Pigeon of Kanata; Rolland Pigeon, Hamilton, Ontario, Bert and Mary Pigeon, Ottawa, Grace and Stella Keluke of Renfrew and numerous other aunts, nieces and nephews. Former member of the Armed Forces and retired employee of Environment Canada. He will be sadly missed by his fishing buddy and dear friend Randy Ross of Ottawa and his many friends at Environment Canada. Remains resting at Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, N.B. Funeral Mass to be held Monday the 13th, 1989, [sic] at St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, N.B. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery later in the spring.

    Mrs. Verta Casey, 73, of 200 Third Ave., Pointe-du-Chene, wife of William Casey, died Wednesday at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Chester, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Celina (Leger) Bond. She attended Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Pointe-du-Chene. Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Nelson of Shediac, Donald of Riverview, John of Moncton, and Willie and Oliver Casey, both of Pointe-du-Chene; two brothers, Roy of Ottawa and Donald Bond of Vancouver; and one grandchild. The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Pointe-du-Chene, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shediac.

    Mrs. Anna LeBlanc, 90, of Manoir St-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 1995 at Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne de Kent after a lengthy illness. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Valentine (Hebert) LeBlanc. He owned and operated a beauty salon in Gardner Mass., USA, for 35 years. He attended the St-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. He is survived by on son, Roger LeBlanc of Lawrence, Mass., USA: four sisters, Mrs. Marie Leger, Mrs. RIta Perry, Mrs. Germaine Savoie, Mrs. Alice Vienneau, all of Gardner Mass., USA: three brothers, Ridele and Alvre, both of Bouctouche, Joseph of Templeton, Mass., USA; three granddaughters; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews;. She was predeceased by her husband, Alyre D. LeBlanc in 1974; one sister, Irene; one brother, Pierre. Resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., Bouctouche with visiting hours on Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at St-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Monday, March 13, 1995 at 10 a.m. Interment in Parish Cemetery in spring. Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.

    William Legere

    Saint John - William Legere formerly of Paddock Street, Saint John, passed away on Friday, February 9, 1996 at Kennebec Manor Nursing Home. Born in Randolph, Saint John West, he was the son of the late Edmund Legere and Helena Maud (Biddington) (Legere) Noel. Mr. Legere was a Ballroom Porter at The Admiral Beaty Hotel for 40 years before his retirement in 1980. His paternal grandparents were among the first Acadian Settlers in Randolph and he was a longtime member of the Saint John Flying Club. He is survivied by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Brydges of Pointe du Chene; one half-brother, Raymond Noel of the Loch Lomond Villa; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two half-sisters, Mrs. Audrey Curran and Mrs. Margaret Wilhamson; two brothers, George and Leo. Resting at Brenan,s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 1996 at 11:50 a.m. to the Cathedral where the mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations to Kennebec Manor or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
