Albertine Gallant of La Montain passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 18th, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in La Montain, she was the daughter of the late Thaddee Leger and the late Alice Melanson. She worked as a Janitor at the Université de Moncton until her retirement. She is survived by one daughter, Yolande (Terry) Brant of Deseronto, ON; four sons, Daniel (Charline) Gallant of Dieppe, Donald (Antoinette) Gallant of St-Joseph, Brian (Janice) Gallant of Little Dover Road, Marc Gallant of La Montain; one sister, Therese (Gus) Gallant of Dieppe; two brothers, Ronald (Nan) Leger of Moncton and Normand (Phyllis) Leger of Dover; eight grandchildren, Jason, Tina, Joel, Nicole, Carole, Martin, John, Josee; and one great grandchild, Olivia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny Gallant (1996); three sisters, Antoinette Leger, Rita LeBlanc and Maria Leger. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Rte La Vallee, Memramcook on Monday, February 19th from 7 to 9pm, Tuesday, February 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Wednesday, February 21st from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic church, St-Joseph on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:00 am. Albertine Gallant of La Montain passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 18th, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in La Montain, she was the daughter of the late Thaddee Leger and the late Alice Melanson. She worked as a Janitor at the Université de Moncton until her retirement. She is survived by one daughter, Yolande (Terry) Brant of Deseronto, ON; four sons, Daniel (Charline) Gallant of Dieppe, Donald (Antoinette) Gallant of St-Joseph, Brian (Janice) Gallant of Little Dover Road, Marc Gallant of La Montain; one sister, Therese (Gus) Gallant of Dieppe; two brothers, Ronald (Nan) Leger of Moncton and Normand (Phyllis) Leger of Dover; eight grandchildren, Jason, Tina, Joel, Nicole, Carole, Martin, John, Josee; and one great grandchild, Olivia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny Gallant (1996); three sisters, Antoinette Leger, Rita LeBlanc and Maria Leger. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Rte La Vallee, Memramcook on Monday, February 19th from 7 to 9pm, Tuesday, February 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Wednesday, February 21st from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic church, St-Joseph on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Arrangement is in care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. www.dupuisfuneralhome.ca.

McIllwraith, occurred on February 15, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George and Desneiges (Daigle) Sudsbear. Hilda was with School District for over 20 years before her retirement in 1986. She is survived by two sons, R. Michael of Montreal and William G. (Linda) of Quispamsis, two daughters, Annette McIllwraith and Hilda Foster of Saint John, two brothers, George Sudsbear of Fort McMurray, AB and Bobby (Robert) Sudsbear of Saint John, three sisters, Pauline Gorham of Gorhams Bluff, Ruth Kobus of Vancouver, BC and Joan Short of the Kingston Peninsula, three grandsons, one granddaughter, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her special canine companion Susie. She was predeceased by four brothers, Jack, Dallas, Maurice and Peter Sudsbear and two sisters, Nellie Minor and Marie Leger. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com.

John Borden “Bordie” Gould, 89 years of age, of Amherst passed away suddenly on Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Janie (Gould) Noiles. Bordie cherished his family and was very devoted to his wife and children. He was a steel worker with Robb Engineering and formerly operated “Gould’s Grocery Store” for over 20 years. He was a member of the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Bordie enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, hockey, bowling, fishing, attending horse races and playing cards. Bordie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Fredonia “Freda” (Doucet); twin daughters, Carol (John) Gothreau, and Rachel (Stewart) Smith, both of Amherst, 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Melissa) Smith & Kimberly (David Baldwin) Smith, Lori (Andre) Leger, Gina (Michael) Sasco and Patricia (Philip) Atkinson; 1 great grandchild, Connor Michael Smith, as well as a very special sister-in-law Carmel Doucet. He was predeceased by son George in 1990, and by half-brothers, Leo Noiles and Floyd Noiles. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst (667-8777).
