Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Monday, March 3, 2008. Born November 14, 1918 in Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Stanislas and Albina (Thibodeau) Léger. She is survived by three sisters: Hélèna Bourque (Néri) and Juliette Léger (Yvon) both of Cap-Pelé, Claudette Plummer (Georges) of Grand-Barachois; six brothers: Emery Léger (Catherine) of Shediac, Alcide Léger (Élise) and Joseph Léger (Jeannita) both of Grand-Barachois, Oswald Léger (Alice) and Camille Léger (Pauline) both of Cap-Pelé, Léandre Léger (Lucille) of Cormier Village; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Armand (1995), she was also predeceased by two sisters: Alice Léger, and Eveline LeBlanc. Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Thursday, from 9:30a.m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac.    Yvon Bourgeois (1907 - 2007) SHEDIAC, NB -

   Yvon Bourgeois, age 100, passed away after a brief illness at his residence, Villa Providence, Shediac, on December 1, 2007. Born in Grande-Digue on October 30, 1907, he was the son of the late Napoleon Bourgeois, and the late Helene Robichaud. He was a retired Farmer and fishermen and truck driver, self employed for the last fifty years. He was employed with the provincial government, a forman with the dept of highway in Cocagne. Yvon Bourgeois was very well involved in his community, he was the founding member of the Caisse Populaire de Grande-Digue and was the last surviving founding member. He represented the parish of Dundas at the level of Kent county for many years. He attended La-Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Survived by five daughters, Carmella Bourgeois (Roger), Anita Cormier (Leonide), Lucia Richard, Grande-Digue, Elise Leger (Alcide), Barachois, Cecile Parrot, Halifax; two sons, Edmond Bourgeois (Lorraine), Thomas Bourgeois, Grande-Digue; four sisters, Marguerite Gallant (Late Freddy), Haverhill Mass., Leonise Langis (Late Robert), Moncton, Anita Strom (Late Robert), Jeanne Epping (Late Charles), Seattle Wash.; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, the late Helene Robichaud (Bourgeois)(2004); one son, Zoel (1993); one daughter, Juliette (1991); three sisters, Viola (1984), Aline (1971), Lucia (1999); three brothers, Alderic (1997), Edmond, Laurie, at a very young age. Requested by the family there will be no visiting time at the funeral home. Funeral service at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 4pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers requested by the family a memorial donation to the Dr. Georges-L.    GRANDE-DIGUE - À la Villa Providence de Shédiac, le samedi 1er décembre 2007, à l'âge de 100 ans, est décédé après une courte maladie Yvon Bourgeois. Né à Grande-Digue le 30 octobre 1907, il était fils de feu Napoleon Bourgeois et de feu Helene Robichaud. Il laisse dans le deuil cinq filles: Carmella Bourgeois (Roger), Anita Cormier (Leonide) et Lucia Richard, toutes de Grande-Digue, Elise Leger (Alcide) de Barachois et Cecile Parrot de Halifax; deux fils: Edmond Bourgeois (Lorraine) et Thomas Bourgeois, tous deux de Grande-Digue; quatre soeurs: Marguerite Gallant (feu Freddy) de Haverhill, Mass., Leonise Langis (feu Robert) de Moncton, Anita Strom (feu Robert) et Jeanne Epping (feu Charles), toutes deux de Seattle, Wash.; 32 petits-enfants; 44 arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. M. Bourgeois a été cultivateur, pêcheur et camionneur à son compte pendant une cinquantaine d'années. Il fut aussi à l'emploi du gouvernement provincial, au niveau de la voirie, comme contremaître, à Cocagne. M. Bourgeois fut impliqué dans sa communauté. Il était maître chant pendant plus de quarante ans à Grande-Digue, membre fondateur de la Caisse Populaire de Grande-Digue et en a été le président pendant plusieurs années. Il était le dernier membre fondateur. Il représentait la paroisse de Dundas au niveau du conté de Kent pendant plusieurs années. À la demande de la famille, il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église La Visitation de Grande-Digue, le mardi 4 décembre, à 16h. L'inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. À la demande de la famille, un don, à la mémoire de M. Bourgeois, au lieu de fleurs, peut être fait à la Fondation Dr-George-L.-Dumont, à la Société canadienne du cancer ou à une oeuvre de bienfaisance de votre choix serait apprécié.    The death of Phillippe LeBlanc of Cap Pele, and formerly of Barachois, Occurred Tuesday at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital following a long illness. He was 91. Born at Barachois, he was a son of the late Edouard and Philomaine (Lirette) LeBlanc. He was a farmer until retirement years ago, and attended St. Henrie du Barachois Roman Catholic Church. His wife, the former Marguerite Leger, died in 1961, He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Albert LeBlanc (Corinne) and Mrs. Alvin Boudreau (Jeannine) with whom he resided, both of Cap Pele, Mrs. Louisa Duguay of Charterville, Mrs. Emile Vautour (Annie) of Greenville, N.H., Mrs. Louis LeBlanc (Desange) of Montreal and Mrs. Azor LeBlanc (Clara) of Dorchester Crossing; one son, Edouard LeBlanc of Toronto; one Sister, Mrs. Philippe LeBlanc (Olive) of Robichaud, 30 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, Shediac. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Henrie du Barachois Roman Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery.

   Mrs. Peter V. Cormier of St. Gregoire, Mother of Mrs. Henry Leger, Grand Digue (Special to The Times) Shediac, Nov. 24 -

   One of the oldest and most highly respected residents of Southern Kent, Mrs. Cormier, widow of Peter V. Cormier, died recently at the home of her son, Philip, in the village of St. Gregoire, near Buctouche. Mrs. Cormier was born in 1841 and was formerly Miss Obeline Cormier. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Daniel LeBlanc (Vitaline), St. Gregoire; Mrs. Simon Bourque (Emelie), Breau Village, Kent Co.; Mrs. Hycacinthe Breau (Dina), Northbridge, Worcester Co., Mass., and Mrs. Henry Leger (Marie Jeanne), Grand Digue, and two sons, Cyrille C. Cormier, Notre Dame, Kent. Co, and Philip St. Gregoire. At a largely attended funeral at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Bouctouche, the pastor, Rev. Philip Hebert, sang requiem mass. The pallbearers were Henry Leger, John Baptist Gosselin, Leo Cormier, Odilon Cormier, Alyre Cormier and Edmund Cormier.

   On Saturday morning, Dec 30th, 1916, the death of Mr. George P. Cormier occurred in the hospital at St. John, after an illness of eleven months. Deceased, who was 49 years of age, is survived by his wife and two daughters, Irene and Edna, and one adopted son, Zepherin; also his mother, Mrs. Patrick Hebert, of Grand Digue, and three brothers, Philippe, of Buctouche; Cirile, of Amherst and Vital, of New Bedford, Mass.; also five sisters, Mrs. Placide Melansen, of New Bedford; Mrs. Daniel LeBlanc of Buctouche; Mrs Simon Bourque, of Cocagne; Mrs. Hyacinthe Breau, of Notre Dame, and Mrs. Henry Leger, Grand Digue. The remains were taken to Grand Digue, Jan. 2nd where the funeral service was held, and interment was made in the Roman Catholic cemetery at Grand Digue on Wednesday Jan 3rd.

    The death of Eddie Leger of Grand Digue occurred Monday at Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. He was 61. Born at Grand Digue he was a son of the late Henry and Marie Leger. He was employed as custodian at the University of Moncton. He is survived by his wife the former Dora Goguen, three daughters, Mrs. Gerome Guillian (Louise) of Massachusetts, Mrs. Raymond Ceral (Huberte) of Grand Digue and Miss Elise Leger of Worcester, Mass.; four sons, Peter of Westville, Saint John, Gerard, Charles and Adrien Leger, all of Grand Digue; seven sisters, Mrs. Gerard Boudreau (Edmee) of Shediac, Mrs. Zenon Gallant (Rita) and Mrs. Eric Breau (Aline), both of Grand Digue, Mrs. Arthur LeBlanc (Jeannine) and Mrs. Ernie LeBlanc (Cecil), both of Saint John, Mrs. Elze LeBLanc (Alice) of Montreal and Mrs. Alcide Hebert (Germaine) of Saint John; two brothers, Edgar of Moncton and Henrie Leger of Cocagne. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home Shediac, from 7 p.m. today. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grand Digue Roman Catholic Church with internment in the chuch cemetery.
