Informations biographiques
Charles Deveau habitait à Tintamarre avant le Grand Dérangement. Après la prise du fort Beauséjour il se réfugia dans la baie des Chaleurs, où il fut recensé en 1760. Il passa à l’île Saint-Jean et de là à Miquelon en 1765. Nous le retrouvons à D’Escousse en 1771. Les Deveau du comté de Richmond descendent de son fils Joseph (no 40) et quelques Deveau de Chéticamp sont de la lignée de son fils Augustin.2

Cette famille se réfugia à la rivière des Habitants durant l'été de 1751. Elle ne fut pas expulsée de l'île Royale. En 1771 Jean-Baptiste et Marie-Josèphe étaient à Arichat, où ils firent baptiser deux enfants par l'abbé Bailly.2

Informations biographiques
Nous n’avons rien recueilli pour indiquer s’il s’est marié; il se peut que la famille dont il était le chef consistait de sa mère et (ou) de sa soeur Anne, qui furent recensées avec lui (et un autre frère, Michel) à Miquelon en 1767. Ses père et mère étaient originaires de Port-Royal. Ils s’établirent à Port-Toulouse entre 1720 et 1722, mais peu après la naissance de Joseph ils allèrent demeurer à Tracadie, sur l’ile Saint-Jean. Devenue veuve, Anne Boudrot se réfugia à Nipisiguit avant d’être prise par les Anglais en 1761 et emmenée prisonnière, avec ses enfants, au fort Cumberland. Elle gagna l’ile de Miquelon de ce dernier endroit.1

Informations biographiques
Jean-Baptiste et Gertrude s’établirent sur l’île à Arichat-Ouest qui était longtemps connue par les Acadiens de la région comme l’île des Girouard. Jean- Baptiste était marin. Il décéda après le 14 juillet 1832, lorsqu’il fit un acte-fiduciaire en faveur des enfants de sa fille Gertrude. Il y a encore plusieurs de ses descendants à Arichat-Ouest.1

Informations biographiques
Séparé de ses père et mère, Michel Boutin était seul à Nipisiguit en 1761. Nous ne savons pas par quel chemin il vint à l’île Madame, mais il y est mentionné dès 1771, lorsqu’il fut parrain de Geneviève Bois. Michel s’établit à Petit-Arichat (Arichat-Ouest) avec ses beaux-frères Joseph, Jean et Paul Forgeron. Il fut choisi un des premiers marguilliers de la paroisse d’Arichat en 1803. Les enfants de Michel et de Charlotte étaient renommés pour leur longévité, cinq sur six d’entre eux étant décédés entre quatre-vingt cinq et cent-un ans. Tous les Boutin de l’île Madame étaient de la lignée de Michel.1
