Mrs. S. LeBlanc St. Anthony (Special) -
The death of Mrs. Lydia LeBlanc, widow of Sam LeBlanc of St. Anthony occurred Wednesday at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital after a brief illness. She was 70. Born at Caraquet, she was a daughter of the late Amand and Marie-Luce (Babineau) Surette. She was a member of the St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church and was a barber by trade. Twice married, her first husband, Dominique LeBlanc, died in 1967, while her second husband, died in 1972. She is survived by five sons, Normand of Leominster, Mass., Valerie of Shediac Bridge, Roger of Moncton, Hector and Joseph LeBlanc, both of St. Anthony; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Cormier (Geneva) of St. Pierre; two step sons, Herve of Bouctouche and Leo Paul LeBlanc of St Anthony; a brother, Jean Baptiste Surette of Moncton; a sister, Mrs. Joseph P. Leger (Lorette) of St. Anthony, two step brother, Aquilla and Omer Surette both of St. Anthony, an adopted sister, Mrs. Jos Doucet (Eveline) of St. Anthony; 14 grandchildren, a great grandchild. The body is resting at the Community Hall in St. Anthony. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church with entombment in the parish cemetery vault to await burial in the spring.
