Albert J. Leblanc, 85 Established Westminster Country Club in 1957
WESTMINSTER -- Albert J. Leblanc, 85, of 51 Ellis Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, in Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Fla., after an illness.
Mr. Leblanc was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Fitchburg, the son of Calixte and Amanda (Leger) Leblanc. He had lived in Westminster for more than 30 years.
In 1957. Mr. Leblanc established Westminster Country Club. He had continued to be active in its operation, and he was a member of the National Golf Course Owners Association.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg.
Mr. Leblanc is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Rita A. (Mercier) Leblanc; two sons, Robert A. Leblanc and Donald A Leblanc, both of Westminster; three sisters, Dorothy Gaik of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Edna Boisvert of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lena Larcenaire of Fitchburg; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Westminster.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
