LEOMINSTER -- Alfred H. Leger, 92, of Leominster died Wednesday, Nov. 3, in The Highlands, Fitchburg, after an illness.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1912, in Fitchburg, the son of Henry and Eliza (Marley) Leger, and lived in Leominster for 50 years.
Mr. Leger was a patent engineer for Heald Machine Co. in Worcester for many years, retiring several years ago.
He was a life member of the St. Joseph Club in Fitchburg.
Mr. Leger leaves two sons, Alfred R. “Bob” Leger and Ronald H. “Ron” Leger, both of Leominster; two brothers, Hennessey Leger and Roland Leger, both of Fitchburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife of 59 years, Rita (Lamoureux) Leger, died on Jan. 22, 2001. Mr. Leger was predeceased by two brothers, Edmond Leger and Robert Leger, and a sister, Rita Collette.
LEGER --On Nov. 3, Alfred H. Leger, 92, of Leominster. The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial is in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m.
