LEOMINSTER -- Rita Collette, 75, of 238 Spruce St., and 1237 Central St., died Saturday, Aug. 28, in River Terrace Nursing Home, Lancaster.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Waltham, the daughter of Alyre and Germaine (Legere) Collette. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School, Fitchburg.
Ms. Collette worked at the Red Cross for 42 years at Fort Devens. She retired on Oct. 19, 1993, at a luncheon in her honor. She was presented the Post flag by Col. Edward Nuttall for her many years of service with the Red Cross.
She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish in Leominster.
Ms. Collette is survived by one brother, Noel Collette of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Lorraine Collette and Theresa Hamel, both of Leominster; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Jeanne Collette of Fitchburg, in May 2004.
COLLETTE -- On Aug. 28, Rita Collette, 75, of Leominster. The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Church, 168 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Leominster. Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, is directing arrangements.
