Emeline M. Fontaine
FITCHBURG -- Emeline M. (Cormier) Fontaine, 80, formerly of 40 Carriageway Drive and 776 Shea St., died Saturday evening, April 2, at Birchwood Care Center, Fitchburg.
She was born in Fitchburg on June 28, 1924, the daughter of Tilman and Maryjane (Leger) Cormier and was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg.
For several years she worked as a home health aide, retiring in 1976.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Fitchburg.
Mrs. Fontaine is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James F. and Elaine Fontaine of Townsend; four sisters, Bernice Gaudet of Leominster, Margaret Cormier and Leona Cormier, both of Fitchburg, and Louise Richards of Gardner; four grandchildren, Brenda Anderson, Kelly Fontaine, Jennifer Babcock and Jessie Babcock; and four great-grandchildren. She was the wife of Bernard Fontaine, who died in 1982. She was the mother of the late John Fontaine of Fitchburg, who died in 1977, and the sister of the late Camille Cormier and Minnie Allain, both of Gardner, Arthur Cormier of Clinton, Bella Butler of Ashburnham, Albert Cormier, Emma St. John, Clifford Cormier, Nellie Boudreau, all of Fitchburg.
FONTAINE -- On April 2, Emeline M. (Cormier) Fontaine, 80, of Fitchburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
