TOWNSEND -- Dorothea M. (Leger) Kenney, 71, of 66 Dudley Road, formerly of 174 Lunenburg Road, died Friday, Jan. 21, at home, after being stricken ill.
Born Nov. 10, 1933, in Fitchburg, she was one of 13 children born to Alfred D. and Della (Maillet) Leger. She had resided in Townsend for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Kenney worked for many years as a floor lady at the former Comfort Slipper Co., retiring in 1968.
She attended St. John’s Church, Townsend.
She is survived by four brothers, Leo Leger of Springfield, Emile Leger of Keene, N.H., and Alferie Leger and Alcide Leger, both of Fitchburg, a sister, Theresa Simard of Leominster; several nices and nephews; and her dear friend, Linda S. O’Grady of Mason, N.H. She was the wife of Alfred W. “Dick” Kenney, who died in 1998.
KENNEY -- On Jan. 21, Dorothea M. (Leger) Kenney, 71, of Townsend. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Church, 1 School St., Townsend.
