Rene L. Bourque
FITCHBURG -- Rene L. Bourque, 76, of 76 Gloria Ave., died Saturday, March 5, at his home after a lengthy struggle with cancer.
He was born in Fitchburg on Dec. 19, 1928, the son of Edmond and Elmira (Goguen) Bourque.
During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Bourque served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Before retiring in 1990, he had been employed as manufacturing plant manager for the Orchard Corporation of America, St. Louis, Mo. at locations in St. Louis and Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Bourque had previously been employed by the former Fitchburg Paper Company, as Production Manager for the Decotone Products Division in Westminster and later as Superintendent of the Carolina Gravure Division in Lexington, S.C.
Mr. Bourque is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rena M. (Angelini) Bourque; two sons and daughters-in-law, James F. Bourque and Mari Bourque of Ashland, Ore. and Michael A. Bourque and Deborah Bourque of Fairport, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn M. Jones and Gregory Jones of Fairport, N.Y.; four brothers, Raymond Bourque and Joseph Bourque both of Fitchburg, Leo Bourque of South Yarmouth, and William Bourque of Virginia; two sisters, Blanche Methot of San Jose, Calif. and Beatrice Leger of Fitchburg; five grandchildren, Melissa, Zachary, Lindsay, Christopher and Rachael; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Bourque, Emile Bourque, Henry Bourque, Lillian Bourque, Alice Varga, Margaret Forest, Yvonne Bourque and Lina Morin.
BOURQUE -- On March 5, Rene L. Bourque, 76, of Fitchburg. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster.
