Alice E. Clingan
FITCHBURG -- Alice E. (Vautour) Clingan, 80, of the Sundial Apartments, 29 Merriam Parkway, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Life Care Center of Leominster.
She was born in Fitchburg on March 21, 1925, the daughter of Alfred and Euphimie (Leger) Clingan and resided much of her life in Fitchburg. She had also resided in Seminiole, Fla. for 17 years before returning here in 2000.
For over 20 years, Mrs. Clingan worked as a cutter at the former Asher Pant Co. in Leominster. Prior to that, she worked at Dennison Office Products in Ashland. While residing in Florida she worked at Barnett Bank in Clearwater.
She was a member of the Fitchburg Retired Women’s Club, the Fitchburg Senior Booster Club, and St. Joseph’s Church.
She is survived by a stepson, Thomas R. Clingan of Marlboro; a stepdaughter, Candice M. Bostwick of Herndon, Va.; and two grandchildren, Robert Bostwick and John Bostwick. Her husband, Frederic J. Clingan Jr., died on May 25, 2000. She was the sister of the late Frank Vautour, Albert Vautour, and Leone Norton.
CLINGAN -- On Jan. 14, Alice E. (Vautour) Clingan, 80, of Fitchburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation period will be Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
