FITCHBURG - Joseph E. "Nap" Leger, 76, of 367 Hawks Nest Circle in Rochester, N.Y., died Wednesday. He was a maintenance engineer for American International College in Springfield for 40 years, retiring several years ago. Born in Fitchburg, he was raised and educated in Cogniac, New Brunswick, Canada, returning to Fitchburg for a short time in 1949. He lived in Springfield for 40 years and had moved to Rochester recently. He was a peacetime Army veteran. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield and a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg. He had most recently been a communicant of St. Lawrence Church in Rochester. The funeral will be Tuesday morning from Lavery-Chartland Funeral Home and in Immaculate Conception Church, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are late Monday afternoon through early evening and Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
