Alban M. Hebert
ASHBY -- Alban M. Hebert, 73, of 58 Telephone Road, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer, after a struggle with cancer.
He was born in Fitchburg on Sept. 28, 1932, the son of Alphe J. and Beatrice (Leger) Hebert. He grew up in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1949.
Mr. Hebert was a construction engineer employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The last project that he worked on was the construction of the new gymnasium complex at Fitchburg State College.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Korea.
He was a member of the Laborers Union local 39, the National Arbor Day Foundation.
He loved to read and listening to music especially classical and jazz.
Mr. Hebert leaves his wife of 49 years, Stella M. (Cashen) Hebert; his sons, Michael A. Hebert and wife Cheryl A. of Ashburnham, Stephen Hebert and companion Kim of Hudson; his daughters, Dawn Hadler of Charlston, S.C. and Cynthia Teto and husband Matthew of Athol; his brother, Joseph Hebert and wife Josephine of Leominster; his sister, Rita Landry of Ashby; a brother-in-law, Camille Landry of Fitchburg; sisters-in-law, Marie Hebert and Yvonne Hebert, both of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Craig N. Hebert, Jessica L. Hebert, Paige Hadler, and Levi J. Teto. Three brothers, Andrew, Alexander and Merville Hebert, and one sister Theresa Landry, predeceased him.
HEBERT -- On Jan. 14, Alban M. Hebert, 73, of Ashby. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., Fitchburg. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the National Arbor Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410; or to the Children’s Cancer Research, 7801 Bush Lake Road, Minneapolis, MN 55439-3152.
