V. Leger St. Joseph (Special) -
The death of Vital Leger of Cormier's Cove occurred late Friday night at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital after a short illness. He was 60. Born at St. Joseph, he was a son of the late Willie and Exelda (LeBlanc) Leger. He was employed at the Memramcook Institute as a stationery engineer for the past 21 years, and had served overseas with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He was a member of the Memramcook branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a third degree member of the Memramcook chapter Knights of Columbus. He is survived by a sister, Miss Yvonne Leger of Cormier's Cove, four brothers, Pierre of Parkton, Dollard and Joseph, both of Moncton, and Alfred Leger of Cormier's Cove. The body is resting at Dupuis funeral home Memramcook. Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. today at the St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph, with members of the Legion and K of C to act as pallbearers. A bugler will play Last Post and Reville at the committal service in the parish cemetery following the mass.
