STE-ANNE-DE-KENT - Mrs. Rita Poirier, age 81, of Perry Road, Ste-Anne-de-Kent, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 1997 at the Stella Maris Hosptial, in Ste-Anne-de-Kent after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 17, 1915, in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Rosanne (Belliveau) Poirier. She was a Housewife. She attended Ste-Anne-de-Kent Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ste-Anne-de-Kent Golden Age Club.
She is survived by five daughters, Yvette Richard (Eloie), Annette Leger (Marcel), Gloria Robichaud (Guy) all of Leominster, Mass., Dorice Saulnier (Jean-Paul) of Bouctouche, Simonne Allain (Claude) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent; six sons, Raymond (Girene), Herve (Huberte) both of Bouctouche, Marcel (Denise) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, Paul (Rose monde), Rheal (Nicole), Omer (Geneva) all of Ste-Anne-de-Kent; four sisters, Odila Gould of Buffalo, NY, Madeleine LeBlanc (Hector) of Saint John, NB, Therese Caissie (Leo) of Leominster, Mass., Lola Carroll (Alan) of Richibouc tou; one brother, Auguste of St-Antoine-de-Kent; 22 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Antoine Poirier; one daughter Rose-Marie; two brothers, Lionel, Dosithe and one grand son, David.
Resting at Ste-Anne-de-Kent Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room with visiting hours on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from Ste-Anne-de-Kent Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 21, 1997 at 7 p.m. Interment in Ste-Anne-de Kent Parish Cemetery.
