Anna Leger Anderson, 99
Was a bookkeeper for many years; lived in Fitchburg
FITCHBURG -- Anna L. (Young) Leger Anderson, 99, of 139 Highland Ave., died Saturday, March 25, in Birchwood Care Center.
Born Feb. 25, 1901, in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of William F., and Emma (Gagnon) Young. Her family moved to Fitchburg in 1913 and she had lived here ever since, graduating in 1919 from Fitchburg High School.
Mrs. Anderson was a bookkeeper for the former C.A. Cross Company, the former Kidder and Davis Company, and the former Miller's Clothing Store, all of Fitchburg, for many years, until her retirement in 1976.
She leaves three daughters, J. Patricia Kent of Schenectady, N.Y., and Dolores A. Wilson and Marilyn J. Donston, both of Fitchburg; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, William J. Leger, to whom she was married for 45 years, died in 1968. Her second husband, Gunner Anderson, to whom she was married for 10 years, died in 1994. A brother, George Young, died many years ago.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St.
Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
