LEOMINSTER -- Gary A. Salvatore, 46, of 28 Florence St., died at home Monday morning, Oct. 18, after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 5, 1952, in Leominster, the son of Geno and Irene M. (Leger) Salvatore, and had lived 15 years in Fitchburg before returning to Leominster in 1993. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1971.
Mr. Salvatore was a field-service engineer at Genrad in Westford, where he worked for 20 years.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Salvatore was a member of St. Anna's Church. He was a longtime coach in the youth hockey and dekhockey programs in the Twin City area. He had also played dekhockey here for many years.
Besides his mother in Leominster, he leaves his leaves his wife of 25 years, Pamela D. (St. John) Salvatore; two sons, David J. Salvatore and Ryan G. Salvatore, both of Leominster; a brother, Robert A. Salvatore, also of Leominster; five sisters, Sheila Rogers of Leominster, Nancy Davis of Suffield, Ohio, Ann Johnson of Ashburnham, Susan Mayhew of Leominster and Jean Salvatore of Bel Air, Md.; nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held Thursday from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 194 Lancaster St.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
