FITCHBURG -- Alma F. (Mills) Wells, 93, formerly of 35 Day St., died Tuesday morning, July 11, in Leominster Hospital after an illness.
She was born March 12, 1907, in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Celina (Leger) Mills, and had lived most of her life in Fitchburg.
Mrs. Wells was a woolen worker at the former Star Worsted Mills for many years. She later worked in the laundry room at Burbank Hospital for more than 10 years before she retired in 1972.
She had attended Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church.
She leaves a son, Robert W. Wells of Fitchburg; a daughter, Judith E. Lincoln, also of Fitchburg; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Her husband, Arthur J. Wells, died in 1977.
She was also predeceased by two brothers, Charles Mills Sr. and Joseph Mills, and five sisters -- Mary Roy, Eva Trudeau, Yvonne Fournier, Rose Mills and Alice Duval.
The funeral will be held Thursday from the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church, 118 Theresa St.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held at the funeral home Thursday morning from 8:15 to 9:15.
