LEGERE, Louise A, (nee Jones) 82, of Burnaby Passed away peacefully on September 13, 2010, at RCH, after a brief illness. She was born in a small rural community on Canaan Mt., N.S., in the Annapolis Valley on April 6, 1928. She walked for miles to attend a one room school. After her school years, she headed to Halifax and worked in the TB hospital. She met and married Laurie Legere on January 20, 1950 and moved to St. John, N.B. She loaded up her blongings in a 1956 VW bug and headed out West to begin her 25 year career as an LPN at VGH, working in the Renal unit. Where she retired early at age 60. She was proud to be a Blue Noser and often returned to her homeland to reacquaint with childhood friends and reminisce. She loved to travel throughout Canada, the Oregon Coast and especially the Maritimes where she leaves many grieving friends. She was always seeking new and wonderful adventures. She was an avid animal lover, clam digger, canner, reader and puzzle solver, bowler and casino player, with the car of her choice always being a VW bug. She belonged to the Pythian Sisters, Mainland Temple #14, and The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 83. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Annie Jones, husband and infant daughter. She is survived by special friends Rea Braithwaite of Burnaby, Marilou Littke of Birch Bay and the loves of her life Mikki and Buddy her faithful canine companions, and extended friends all across Canada and the United States. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at HAU and 5 North for the attentive care during her illness. Per her request, there will be no formal service. A celebration of Louise's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or a charity of your choice. We'll miss that infectious smile, charm and wit. You made friends with everyone you met no matter where you went. Our Bird has flown the nest forever. Keep the candle burning for those of us you left behind. We love you and miss you. You will always be in our thoughts.
