Mourn Death Ferdinand Dupuis, 70 Memramcook March 31 (Special) -
One of the best known residents of the Memramcook Valley, Ferdinand Dupuis, passed away at his home last night. He was 70 years of age. A foreman for the Wheeler Contractors, of Moncton, for the past 25 years, Mr. Dupuis had a hand in building many well known buildings in Moncton and throughout eastern New Brunswick, and was widely and favorably known amongst the building trade as a man of great skill and ability in his chosen line of work. He died in his sleep about 10.45 Sunday night, having retired earlier, seemingly in his usual good health. He had been active in his work the previous week and Sunday afternoon was up and around the community as usual. Married twice, Mr. Dupuis is survived by five children from his first marriage and eight from the second. They are: Edward, Lewisville; Antoine, Memramcook; Mrs. Ola LeBlanc (Marie), Moncton; Alyre, Moncton; Mrs. Philip Dupuis (Helene), Memramcook, Paul Emile, Memramcook; Yvon, Ontario; Mrs. Joseph Gautreau (Therese), Memramcook; Mrs. Gerard Bourque (Doris), Memramcook; Jeannita, Roger, Claudette and Annette, at home. Also surviving are four children of his second wife, Mrs. Eli Bastarache (Rita), Chatham; Gerald Bourgeois, Lynn, Mass.; Henri Bourgeois, Fox Creek. Another son, Laurie Bourgeois, was killed while serving with the R.C.A.F, overseas as a pilot. Three sisters, Mrs. Maxime Leger (Ida), Memramcook; Mrs. A. Melanson (Rosalie), Memramcook; and Mrs. B. Bourgeois, Shediac, also survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9.00 a.m., from St. Thomas Church, St. Joseph, with interment in the parish cemetery.
