Bella Bastarache -
The death of Mrs. Bella Bastarache, widow of Amedee Bastarache, St. Marie, occurred Tuesday at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital following a brief illness. She was 70. Born in Cocagne she was the daughter of the late Antoine and Dinna LeBlanc Richard and had attended the St. Marie Roman Catholic Church. Her husband died in 1964. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Ariste LeBlanc (Therese), Mrs. Alderic Robichaud (Adrienne), both of St. Anthony, Mrs. Irois Melanson (Corinne), Mrs. Vincent Melanson (Bernice), both of Maynard, Mass., Mrs. Fidele Savoie (Huberte), Manchester, Conn., and Mrs. Aurele Leger (Roseline) of Cocagne; one step-daughter Sister Marguerite Bastarache NDSC, Moncton; two sons, Herve and Jean-Paul, both of St. Marie; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Goguen, Mrs. Henrie Surette, both of Leominster, Mass., Mrs. Sara Sawyer, Mrs. Romeo Richard, both of Gardner, Mass., and Mrs. Aurele Cormier of Moncton; four brothers, Albert of Dieppe, Ovila of Gardner, Mass., and Ernest and Antoine of Cocagne, and by 28 grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home in Shediac. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Marie Roman Catholic Church with Interment in the parish cemetery.
