Rene P. Leger
Lived in Milford for 36 years Rene P. Leger, 70, of Mooreland Street, Milford, N.H., died Dec. 20, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Gardner, Mass., a son of the late Hector J. and Rose A. (Desmarais) Leger. Mr. Leger had been a resident of Milford for the past 36 years and had formerly resided in Gardner, Mass., for many years. He graduated from Rise Institute of Technology, Nashua. Mr. Leger served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He had been employed by the Milford Cooperative Bank for five years, Nashua Corporation for 23 years, and while living in Gardner, he had worked for C.H. Hartsons. He was a loving husband and father. He loved cooking, gardening and reading books on U.S. history. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Milford, where he had served as an usher for 30 years. He was predeceased by two brothers, Norman H. Leger and Roland R. Leger, and a sister, Lorraine Curtis. Family members include his wife of 43 years, Dolores "Honey" (Calvetti) Leger of Milford; a son, Craig T. Leger of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Kerry R. and Michael D. Katra of Chicago; several nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held today (Thursday, Dec. 22) at 9 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring.
