B. J. Legere Joggins (Special) -
The death of Basil Joseph Legere of Joggins occurred at Highland View Hospital, Amherst on Friday following a brief illness. He was 53. Born in Joggins, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Legere. He was a carpenter by trade, a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, and a Member of the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Donnelle; two daughters, Mrs. David Smith (Dianne) of Amherst, Mrs. Roger White (Irma) River Hebert; one son, Billy at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Comeau (Dorothy) of Joggins, and Mrs. Clarence LeBlanc (Marjorie) of Dupuis Corner; three brothers, Jim of Bathurst, Austin of Oxford, and Joe of Oakville, Ont. and two grandchildren.The body is resting at his home. Funeral mass will at the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, today at 10 a.m. with interment in Ragged Reef Cemetery, Nova Scotia.
