AIyre Bastarache -
The death of Alyre Bastarache of Notre Dame occurred Tuesday at Moncton Hospital following a long illness. He was 81. Born in St. Marie, Kent County, he was a son of the late Celestin and Virgenie (Leger) Bastarache and attended Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church. He was a retired boiler maker with Canadian National Railways with 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Bourgeois; five daughters, Mrs. Edgar LeBlanc (Lina) and Mrs. Clarence Bourgeois (Rita), both of Moncton, Mrs. Franny Sansone (Marie) of Hopedale, Mass., Mrs. Desire Boucher (Anna) of Marydan, Conn., and Miss Eliza Bastarache of Notre Dame; two sons, Celestin of Moncton and Francois of Notre Dame; four sisters, Mrs. Amus LeBIanc and Mrs Albert Surette, both of Moncton, Mrs. Francis LeBlanc of Lakeburn and Mrs. Alexina Dupuis of Notre Dame, and by 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, Moncton. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
