The death of Azore (Fred) Poirier of 74 Armour St., Moncton, occurred Saturday at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital after a brief illness. He was 60. Born at Grand Digue, he was a son of the late Patrick and Regina (Cormier) Poirier. He had been employed with CFB Moncton at the Number 5 Supply Depot, where he worked for 31 years, retiring last year. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton branch, and a veteran of the Second World War. he is survived by his wife, the former Lia Wolff; three sisters, Mrs. Stephen Gallant (Jeanne) of Moncton, Mrs. Thomas Nowlan (Alice) of Harrisville amd Mrs. Camille Leger (Florine) of Fox Creek; five brothers, Armand, Tilmon, Pat, all of Moncton, Phillip of Halifax and Blair Poirier of Montreal. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, Moncton. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Assumption Cathedral with interment in the Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
