SANFORD - Pauline L. Legere, 75, of Jackson Street, formerly of Dale Street, died Monday at Goodall Hospital.
She was born in Sanford on March 3, 1927, a daughter of Arthur and Eva Laurendeau Berthiaume, and was educated at the former St. Ignatius School.
A lifelong resident of Sanford, Mrs. Legere was employed at the former Sanford Mills. She also worked in the ticket booth at the former Sanford Drive-in, was a housekeeper at the former Hillcrest Gardens (now Newton Center) and waitressed at various restaurants in town.
Mrs. Legere was a longtime communicant of St. Ignatius Church.
Her husband, Raymond D. Legere, died in 1992 and a son, Gregory, died in 1969.
Survivors include three sons, Steven of San Jose, Calif., Daniel of Biddeford and Mark of Boston; four sisters, Yvette Howard of Alfred and Doris Mathieu, Annette Fuessel and Lorraine St. Jean, all of Sanford; and two grandchildren.
PAULINE L., died Sept. 9 in Sanford. There are no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Ignatius Church. Burial follows in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
