Kent Co. Man is Victim Cocagne (Special) -
Twenty-seven-year-old Eugene Despres of Cormierville, Kent County, was killed instantly and two others were injured-one seriously when the car they were in left the highway near here early last evening. Ronald Melanson, also of Cormierville, was rushed unconscious to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Moncton. His description was described last night as critical. The other occupant in the car, Donald Despres, received facial injuries and was treated at Stella Maris Hospital in Buctouche and later released. Pinned - The victim was pinned beneath the wreckage after the car, which he was driving, apparently lurched out of control, slammed into a ditch and back onto the highway where it rolled over. The accident occurred at Ward's Corner about five miles north of this village on a slight curve on route 11. Coroner Dr. Blair Gautreau, Buctouche, said last night no inquest will be held into the fatality. RCMP from the Buctouche detachment investigated the accident. The victim is survived by his mother, Ida Despres; four brothers, Alonzo, Ulric and Norman, all at home, Leonide, Lynn, Mass.; three sisters, Mrs. Edmund Gallant and Mrsr. George Leger, Cormierville, Mrs. Richard Shaw, Toronto. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
