Albert Melanson
Albert Melanson, 81, of St-André, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born May, 27 1921 in St-André he was the son of the late Damien Melanson and Elise Richard. A retired truck operator prior to his retirement he was a Past President and member of the Legion Branch # 91 in Cap Pelé, Past President, member and founding member of l' association de loisir de St-André LeBlanc, and was an avid gardener and card player. An overseas veteran of Second World War he served in Italy, France, Belgium and Holland with the Royal Canadian Army. He will be sadly missed by his wife Corinne (Landry) Melanson; seven daughters, Germaine Melanson (Ola), Marie LeBlanc (Francis) of St-André, Gloria Brine (Roger) of BC, Stella losier (Gilbert) of Dieppe, Géraldine Cormier (Gabriel), Laura Leger (Donald) of Grand Barachois, Blanche Gauvin of Shediac; three sons, Gérald (Patricia) of Shediac, Lionel (Jeanne) of St-André, Arthur (Beverly) of Grand Barachois; five sisters, Lina Arsenault (Léo), Edmée Goguen (Séverin) of StAndré, Yvonne Duguay (Alban), Florida (Yvon) of Bas Cap Pelé, Léonie Bourgeois (Clovis) of Memramcook; five brothers, Arthur (Stella) of Cocagne, Alfred (Catherine) of Lower Sackville, Georges (Anita) of McDougall Settlement, Donat (Althéa), Roméo (Cécilia) of St-André; 31 grand children and 21 great grand children. He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Albertine and a son, Robert. Resting at Funérarium Frenette in Cap Pelé (577-3297) visiting hours Sunday 7 to 9 p.m., on Monday 2 to 4p.m. & 7 to 9p.m., on Tuesday 10a.m. until time of departure 10:50a.m. The Funeral Mass will be held 11a.m. at StThérèse d'Avilla Roman Catholic Church in Cap Pelé.
