Lloyd O. MacIntyre, 90, of Moncton, husband of Ruth (MacDonald), passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 after a brief illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Ora and Myrtle (Murray) MacIntyre. Lloyd was a retired CNR Locomotive Engineer with 38 years service. He was a life member of the #31 Air Force Veterans Club and was a well known dart player, winning several championships and chosen as "Best Sportsman of the Year" 1969/70. Besides his wife Ruth, of over 66 years, Lloyd will be deeply missed by his sons, Conan (Gwen), Moncton, Rick (Carol), Moncton; daughters, Bonnie Gallant (Romeo), Lakeville Westmorland Co., Cherry Reddin (Dan), Moncton; grandchildren, Kimberley (Paul) de Y'turralde, Ottawa, ON, Karen MacIntyre (Greg), Revelstoke, BC, Tyler Leger (Nancy), Miramichi, Craig MacIntyre (Robin), Ottawa, ON, Alisha Gallagher (Ross), Fort Myers, FL, Kathy Mosher (Anthony), Saanichton, BC; great grandchildren, Morgan, Max, Kayla, Sam; sisters, Elsie MacIntyre, Moncton, Marie Linden (late Bill), Portage la Prairie, MB; brother, Arnold (Margaret), Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, predeceased by brothers, Bill and Lester. No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Private family service to be held. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Lloyd's memory, donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital, the SPCA or memorial of choice would be appreciated.
