The death of Emery Joseph Savoie of 95 Lewis Street, Moncton, occurred Monday at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was 64. Born at Point Sapin, he was a son of the late Alexis and Marie B (Meunier) Savoie and attended the Assumption Cathedral. He was a former employee with MacDonald Paving Company, an a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Army. He is survived by his wife, the former Corinne LeBlanc; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Dupuis (Jeannette), and Mrs. Herve Leger (Theresa) both of Moncton, Cecile, Maureen and Emily, all at home; two sons, Marcel and Roger Savoie, both of Moncton; two brothers, Walter of Point Sapin and Wilfred Savoie of Saint John; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Tuttle Brothers' funeral home, Moncton. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Assumption Cathedral with interment in the spring in the Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
