Marceline Sears
SACKVILLE, N.B. – The death of Marceline Sears, age 95, of Shediac and formerly of Sackville, occurred at the O Bons Soins, Shediac, on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.
Born in Haute Aboujagne, she was a daughter of the late Francois and Josephine (Richard) Leger.
A long time resident of Sackville, Marceline was an avid bridge player, a member of the Fort Beausejour Chapter of the IODE, the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Sackville Senior Citizens Club and the St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church.
Marceline will be sadly missed by her three sons, Kenneth (Mary), Moncton, Harold (Janice Duncan), Agassiz, BC and Richard (Glenda), Browns Flats, NB; her daughter, Anne Marie (David) MacFarlane, Hampton, NB; brothers, Alphonse (Florida) and Leo (Bella), both of Haute Aboujagne and Yvon (Juliette) of Cap Pele; as well as her sister, Flora St. Pierre, Shediac; 12 grandchildren, Lisa, Christa, Kimberley, Bonnie, Angela, Darren, Robert, Douglas, Peter, Murray, Troy and Tyler; nine great grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, Carter, Autumn, Harrison, Haleigh, Samantha, James and Tristen; special friends, Lucille Croitor and Margaret LeBlanc, as well as very special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Murray in 1978; special friend, Leonard LeBlanc, a sister Justine Landry; and three brothers Pacifique, Romuald and Vital Leger.
Marceline’s remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300), from where visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated from St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at 11 a.m. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
