1917 - 2000
GRAND-BARACHOIS, NB - Mr. Alphée Léger, 82, of Grand-Barachois, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Monday, November 6, 2000.
Born in Barachois, July 6, 1917, he was the son of the late Napoléon Léger and the late Madeleine Landry. Alphée was employed as a foreman with Edmond Gagnon and Son Ltd. before taking his retirement. He was a member of the Golden Age Club and was a member of St. Henri Roman Catholic Parish in Grand-Barachois.
He is survived be his wife, Delphine (Léger) Léger; three daughters, Rosella Cormier (Euclide Richard) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Jeannine Joyce (Roy Duncan) of Saint John, Denise Vautour (Léo-Paul) of Cap-Pelé; two sons, Léo (Yvette) of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Gérald (Georgette) of Grand-Barachois; three sisters, Rita Blanchard of Sudbury, Ont., Albertine Gaudet of Grand-Barachois and Yvonne Maillet (Normand) of Sudbury, Ont.; one brother, Yvon (Thèrèse) of Grand-Barachois; ten grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Gérard Léger.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visiting hours on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 10 am till hour of departure at 10:40 am. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at St. Henri Roman Catholic Church, Grand-Barachois. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
