Eloi Philippe J. Surette, 75, of Dowd Street, Moncton, died Tuesday, March 1, 1994 at The Moncton Hospital.
Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Eloi and Eugenie (Bourgeois) Surette. He was employed with Bata Shoes as Manager until his retirement. He attended St. Louis de France Roman Catholic Church, Lewisville. He was a member of The Canadian Order of Foresters, The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6. A veteran of World War II, he served overseas with the Calgary Highlanders.
He is survived by his wife Rita (Leger) Surette; two daughters, Mrs. Terry Rouse (Patricia) of St. Anselme and Mrs. Pierre Boulet (Lucille) of Quispamsis; two sons, Robert and his wife Sharon of Scoudouc, Maurice and his wife Annette of St. Anselme; one brother, Paul and his wife Mildred of Moncton; nine grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
The remains are resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 88 Church Street, Moncton, with visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6 will hold a Legion service on Wednesday, March 2, 1994 at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held at St. Louis de France Roman Catholic Church in Lewisville on Thursday, March 3, 1994, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
