Marcel Cormier
CHATHAM (Special) - The death of Marcel Cormier of Chatham occurred Tuesday night at Hotel Dieu Hospital here following a lengthy illness. He was 70.
Born in Claire Fontaine, he was a son of the late John and Emilie (Doucet) Cormier. He was a machinist by trade and had been employed with the department of public works here for a time, later working for the W.S. Loggie Company in Chatham. He retired a few years ago.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alfreda Guimond, three sons, Gerald, Robert, and Donald, all of Chatham; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Grey (Alberta), Chatham, Mrs. Francis Drake (Della), Saint John, two brothers, John and Andrew, St Louis de Kent; five sisters, Mrs. Alphonse Guimond, Quebec; Mrs. Patrick Maillet, Toronto; Mrs. Adelard Fontaine and Mrs. Cyperien Guimond, both of St. Louis de Kent, and Mrs. Ulysses Fontaine, St. Anne de Kent.
The body is resting at Maher’s funeral home here. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish cemetery.
