Laurie Leger
Laurie Leger of Villa du Repos, Moncton, formerly of Champlain Street, Dieppe, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 at the Villa following a lengthy illness six days short of his 90th birthday. Born July 9, 1914 in Grande-Digue, he was the son of the late Lionel Leger and Ozélie Robichaud. A retired businessman, he was founder of Modern Furniture Ltd. having stores in Dieppe, Shediac, and Rogersville. Laurie was also an avid horseman. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve "Vada" (Lynch) Leger of Dieppe; a son, James Darrell "J.D." at home; three grandchildren, Darren, Nicole, Roxanne; four sisters, Rosia Leger of Dieppe, Maria Haché (Rémi) of Kitchener, Rita Goguen of Grande-Digue, Thérèse Divona (Mario) of Toronto; a brother, Lionel (Dorothy) of Fredericton; several nieces, and nephews. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Ozélie, Élodie, Yvonne, Corinne; brothers, Dominique, Camille, Lionel, Roger, and Edgar. At the request of the family, there will be no visiting hours. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Ste-Thérèse de l'EnfantJésus Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
