MEDFORD, N.Y. (Special) - Ernest Leger, 79, died recently at Brookhaven Memnorial Hospital in East Patchogue N.Y., following a lengthy illness.
Born in Bonsecours Kent County, he was a son of the late Julien F. and Herminie (William) Leger.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in France under General Patton, and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jacqueline Morris; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Piercey (Denise), Mrs. John Stokes (Elizabeth) and Therese, all of New York; a son, Thomas of New York; three sisters, Ida Dupuis and Elmire Leger, both 0f Moncton, and Claire of Lynn, Mass.; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Johnny, and two brothers, Max and Zephir, died previously.
Funeral mass was celebrated from St. Francis Roman catholic Church followed by a military ceremony. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
