LEGER, Joffre "Jeff" - Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Monday, May 14th, 2007 at the age of 71 years. Son of the late André and of the late Émilie (née Cormier) Leger. Beloved husband of 47 years of Corinne Leger (née Gallant) of Val Caron. Loving father of Denise Leger, Denis Leger (Lorrie), Carole Silvestri (John) all of Val Caron and Claude Leger (Lise) of Hanmer. Dear brother of Loraine Leger (late Leandre), Marguerite Leblanc (late Raymond) and Noël Leger (Loraine) all of St-Antoine, N.B., Vital Leger (Alice) of Moncton, N.B., Matilda Cyr (late Conrad) of Val Caron and Roger Leger (late Dolores) of Chelmsford. Predeceased by his brother Omer and by his sister Andréa Despres (Aris of Cocagne, N.B.). Sadly missed remembered by his precious grandchildren, Corey, Adam, Shane, Amanda, Mélanie and Marc. Lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Irène Gallant (née Despres) (late Edmond) of Cocagne, N.B. Mr. Leger was a retired miner with Inco, having 32 1/2 years of service. The focus of Joffre's life was his loving family, especially his grandchildren whom he cherished dearly. In his leisure times, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph Street, Hanmer, Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, May 18th, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Notre-Dame-du- Rosaire Church, Blezard Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
