J. P. Melanson -
The death of J. Philomon Melanson of 46 McDougall Avenue, Moncton, occurred Saturday at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital. He was 68. Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late Placide and Leonie (Drisdelle) Melanson. He was a retired trainman, having been employed with the CNR for 28 years. He is survived by his wife the former Alma LeBlanc; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald Leger (Leona) of Lewisville; two sons, Euclide of St. Anthony, Kent County and Ulysse of Moncton; one sister, Miss Eva Melanson of L'Audie, N.B.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Assumption Cathedral in Moncton. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery vault in Charterville, to await burial in the spring.
