James Legere Parrsboro, Feb. 25 -
The death of James Legere, 86-year-old resident of Parrsboro, occurred early Thursday morning at the home of his son, Onslow Legere, with whom he resided. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Legere. For more than 60 years he followed the sea and after his retirement kept active and busy at light work around home. He suffered a stroke about 24 hours before his death. Surviving are five sons, James, Phillip, Onslow, Fred, and Dexter all of Parrsboro. His wife predeceased him several years ago. The funeral was held from St. Brigid's Church Saturday at 9 a.m. with interment in St. Brigid's Cemetery.
