Mrs. Suzane Leger -
Passing of Highly Respected Resident of Upper Aboushagan (Special to the Times) Upper Aboushagan, June 25 -
Deep regret is felt here in the passing of a highly respected resident of this district of Shediac parish in the person of Mrs. Suzane Leger, widow of the late Mr. George Leger. The deceased passed away at her home on Monday, June 23rd, after a short period of illness. She was before her marriage, Miss Suzane Bourque and despite her advancing years was very active until illness overtook her. The late Mrs. Leger is survived by two sons, Clarence, of Upper Aboushagan and Adriste, of Millinocket, Me., also five daughters, Mrs. William McGraw, Upper Aboushagan; Mrs. Phillip Leger, Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Benjamin Williams, Brownville Jct., Maine; Miss Alice Leger and Mrs. Gus Blin, Both of Hartford, Conn. Two sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Ferdinand Thibodeau, of Leger Corner, as well as eleven grandchildren, seven nieces and two nephews also survive. The funeral was held this morning from her late residence to Upper Aboushagan church and was largely attended. The pastor, Rev. Father A. A. Leger, celebrated solemn requiem high mass, after which interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery there, Rev. Father Legere recited prayers at the grave. The pallbearers included Lionel Leger, Edgar Leger, Oliver Leger and Phillip Boudreau. Among those from outside points attending the funeral was Blair P. Melanson, well known restauranteur of Moncton. Numerous mass cards and spiritual offerings were recieved, bearing silent testimony to the high esteem in which the deceased was held.
