Mrs. Eloie Lavoie Shediac, Jan. 31 -
The death occurred at an early hour this morning of Mrs. Lavoie, widow of Eloie Lavoie, a highly respected resident of Shediac, at the home of her stepson, Simon E. Lavoie, Ste Anne St. Mrs. Lavoie had been in poor health for several years and for a long time was a resident of the Providence St. Joseph Home. For the past two weeks she had been confined to her bed. She was born at Grande Digue, Kent County, Oct. 31, 1842, Dorothy Leger, a daughter of the late Fidel Leger. For many years she had been a resident of Shediac. Her husband died in 1908. She was the last of her family, and leaves no children. Simon E. Lavoie, of Shediac, Alexander Lavoie of the C.N.R., Moncton, also of this town, and Maxime Lavoie, of Waltham, Mass., are step-sons. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph's Church here, Rev. Father J .J. V. Gaudet, pastor.
