SCOUDOUC, NB - Mr. Alphonse Melanson, 90, of Scoudouc passed away on Monday, July 5, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton after a brief illness. Born May 7, 1914 in Scoudouc, he was the son of the late Théotime and Élise (Bourque) Melanson. Alphonse was a carpenter by trade prior to his retirement. He attended St. Jacques-leMajeur Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Golden Age Club in Scoudouc. He will be sadly missed by his loving family; wife, Yvonne (Cormier) Melanson; six daughters, Jeannette Ralph (Eugene), Florence Wilson (Jim) and Stella Léger (Clet) all of Moncton, Claudette Bourque of Scoudouc, Alphonsine Maillet (André-Zénon) of Sept Isles, QC., Linda Bourque of Shediac; a son, Oscar of Scoudouc; a sister, Irène Gautreau of Shediac; a sister-in-law, Nellie Melanson of Dieppe; 14 grandchildren, Cindy, David, Jeff, Joanne, Denise, Richard, Michel, Gérald, Linda, Ricky, Nancy, Paula, Marc, Daniel and seven great grandchildren, Lynn, Nicole, Blake, Isabelle, Annie, Julien, Luc. He was predeceased by three brothers, Camille, Pierre, Amédée and five sisters, Yvonne, Valida, Sara, Corinne and Nélida. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held at St. Jacques-le-Majeur Roman Catholic Church, Scoudouc on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 4:30p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
