COCAGNE, NB - Rita Gallant, wife of Johnny Gallant, Cocagne, NB passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Friday, March 28, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born in St. Thomas, NB on March 29, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Maxime Leger and Marie-Blanche Després of St. Thomas. She was a housewife. She attended St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne and was a member of the Golden Age Club. She is survived by her husband Johnny; four daughters, Lorraine Goguen (Joseph), Grande-Digue, Florence Babineau (late Hubert), Cocagne, Therése Daigle (Vincent), St Charles, Rose-Mai Colette (JeanPaul), Cocagne; three sons, Gerard, Léo, Ulysse Gallant (Denise) all of Cocagne; three sisters, Alfreda Gallant, Dorina Arsenault and Doris Cormier (Eric) all from Cocagne; two brothers, Alcide Leger, Omer Leger (Therése) both from St. Thomas; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Aline and Thèrése. Resting at La Cooperative Funeraire, Passage Funeral Co-operative with visitation on Sunday from 7 to 9, Monday from 9:30 am until time of departure. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 31, 2003 at 11 am at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cocagne at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
