GRAND-BARACHOIS-Mr. Eric F. Léger, 92, of Grand-Barachois passed away on Wednesday, August 1st, 2001 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton.
Born in Robichaud, September 13th, 1908, he was the son of the late Alfred Léger and the late Angeline Léger. He was a retired employee with Lockhart's Mill in Moncton and past caretaker of St. Henri Roman Catholic Cemetery in Grand-Barachois. He was a founding member of la Caisse Populaire de Barachois, a member of the Golden Age Club in Barachois. He attended St. Henri Roman Catholic Church in Grand-Barachois.
Eric will be fondly remembered by his loving family; two daughters: Jeannita Loughlin (John) and Alida Murray (Ron) of Grand-Barachois; two sons: Mathieu (Jeannette) of Moncton and Médard (Marguerite) of Grand-Barachois; seven grandchildren: Jocelyn, Gisèle, Paul, Marc, Nicole, Michelle, Ian; five great grandchildren: Sophie, Pascale, Travis, Annick, Mathieu and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
He was predeceased by his wife Lucie (Bourque) Léger in 1998, a sister Marguerite Arsenault and three brothers: Edouard, Emery and Henri Léger.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visitation on Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and on Saturday from 10am until time of departure at 10:40am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, August 4th, 2001 at St. Henri Roman Catholic Church in Grand-Barachois. Interment in the parish cemetery.
