Hélèna Reath
Hélèna Reath, 59, wife of John Reath, of Fairview Knoll, Moncton, passed away Saturday January 5, 2002 at the Dr. George-L. Dumont Hospital following a brief illness. Born September 20, 1942 in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Laurent and Madeleine (Leger) Bourque. Hélèna worked as a seamstress for 28 years at Sears in Dieppe and was an active supporter of local Red Cross Blood Donor clinics. She was also a member of the Shediac Bay Ski club. Hélèna will be remembered for her beautiful flowering gardens, for her dedication to her family and friends, and her vibrant way of approaching life. The love and devotion "Mémère" showed Jacob and Caleb will be long cherished. She attended Paroisse Notre-Dame d' Acadie (UdeM) and St Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Hélèna will be sadly missed by her husband John; sons Charles Gauthier (Janice) of Moncton ; two step sons, Jeffery Reath (Tracy) of Moncton, Jason Reath (Sandra) of Fredericton; her grandsons Jacob and Caleb Reath; three sisters Thérèse Bourque (Léonard Belliveau) of Dieppe, Florence Girouard (Emile) of Grande-Digue, Annette Hamilton (Danny) of Dieppe; her brother Paul-Emile (Carmel) of Dieppe; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Cecile LeBlanc, Bernice Cormier, and Regina Belliveau. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Tuesday from 79 pm., Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm., Thursday from 9 am. until time of departure (10:15). The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am. Thursday January 10, 2002 at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment will be in Scoudouc.
