A. D. Leger - ST.JOSEPH (special) -
The death of Azime D. Leger, a prominent and well known Memramcook West, area businessman, occured Friday at Moncton Hospital following a long illness. He was 89. Born in Memramcook West, he was a son of the late Donat and Henriette (Gaudet) Leger and a member of the St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He had been very active at one time in several community activities. He jointly operated a hardware store, T. and A. Leger, in Moncton for 35 years, after which he opened his own operation in Memramcook West, for 35 more years. He retired from active business five years ago. His wife , the former Alice LeBlanc, died in 1967. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. The body is resting at Dupuis funeral home, Memramcook. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church , St. Joseph with interment in the parish cemetery.
