D. Girouard -
The death of Donat Girouard of 203 Wesley Street, Moncton, occurred Sunday in the Moncton Hospital after three years illness. He was 87. Born in St. Marie, Kent County, he was the son of the late Alexis and Marie (Girouard). Retiring in 1946 as a railway mail clerk, he spent 38 years in his occupation. He attended the Assumption Cathedral. Surviving him are five daughters, Mrs. Roger LeBlanc (Fernande) and Mrs. Arthur Leger (Laurence), both of Moncton; Mrs. Lewis O'Connor (Donalda), Montreal; Mrs. Carlyle Murray (Gilberte), Montreal, and Mrs. Edwin Lynett (Lucille), Niagara Falls; one son, Paul Girouard, Moncton; one sister, Mrs. Melas Bourque, Montreal, and 16 grandchildren. His wife, the former Lizzie Anne Picard, predeceased him in 1964. The body is resting in Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, with the funeral service to be held at Assumption Cathedral at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment will be in the vault in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in Charterville.
