LEGERE, Carmen Donald (Pookie) - 60, 68 Junction Rd., Springhill, died October 9, 1998, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Mary Edna (Legere) Totten and stepson of the late William Henry Totten. He worked as a counselor with Cumberland Community Homes, Oxford, and was a past member of the RAOB 6141, Springhill. He was a former umpire for both minor and senior baseball games. He enjoyed all types of sports, playing cards, crib, backgammon and especially being with his many friends. Surviving are uncles, Lloyd, Edward; aunt, Mrs. Hazel Embree, all of Springhill; a stepniece and several cousins. He was predeceased by stepbrother, William Totten Jr. Cremation has taken place under the direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Memorial service 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, in St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
